This workshop is designed to equip realtors with the knowledge and tools necessary to support individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds in accessing farmland. The workshop topic isessential for the class requirements for renewing the NYS Real Estate License, explicitly addressing the requirements of Fair Housing and Recent Legal Issues.

The session will explore these communities' unique challenges in securing farmland, alternative funding sources, and legal considerations related to farm sales and purchases. Presenters from
the Groundswell Center for Local Food and Farming and Cornell Cooperative Extension of Tompkins County will guide participants through practical strategies, case studies, and legal frameworks to promote equitable land access and sustainable farm ownership.
